Are you ready to launch your business in South Florida? Come pitch the experts and be sure!

On Friday, June 18th, 2010, the Pino Entrepreneurship Center at FIU will host its very own “Shark Tank”. The Shark Tank is your opportunity to have your business plan reviewed and critiqued by our panel of local entrepreneurs and investors. Reconstruct and strengthen your plan to provide your company its blueprint towards success.

Come prepared to present! You will have the opportunity to give an 8-minute pitch on their business. If you have a prototype for your product you are encouraged to bring it with you. There will be a 10 minute Q & A session after the presentation where our panel of experts will share their advice on your product or service. You are also encouraged to submit an executive summary of your business plan to entrepreneurship@fiu.edu ahead of time in order to receive even more valuable feedback.

It’s just 95 bucks to participate! FIU students and alumni get a discount. The discount is also extended to any 2010 Miami Herald Business Plan Challenge participants!

Don’t have a plan yet, but thinking about it. Come watch others survive the “Tank” and learn how!

Who should win The Miami Herald Business Plan Challenge?

This year, there are two People’s Pick tracks: The Community Track, open to all South Floridians, and the FIU Track, open to FIU students, alumni, faculty and staff.  Check out the videos from the six semifinalists in each track at the Herald. Vote below for one Community Track winner and one FIU Track winner.

Voting will end at 11:59 p.m. Monday, May 3. One vote per user will be counted in each track. The Community and FIU winners of People’s Pick contest, along with the judges’ choices for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, will be announced in Business Monday on May 17.
