One of the frustrating parts of using the WordPress Block Editor is the difficulty you sometimes encounter placing blocks. The latest release of the Gutenberg plugin addresses this issue by enabling drag and drop within the Block Editor List View. In Gutenberg 11.1, this feature provides the placement control needed to move blocks to the specific place you want. It is a capability that the “classic” page builders have had for a long time. It is great to finally see it enabled in the standard Block Editor.
Here is the demo from the release announcement post.
There are some other interesting improvements in Gutenberg 11.1 including new border options for blocks. You can read about them in the release post. Justin Tadlock also did a good overview on WordPress Tavern this week.
